  • What is the J-1 teacher exchange program?

    The J-1 program is a U.S. cultural exchange initiative that allows qualified international teachers to teach in accredited U.S. schools for up to 3 to 5 years. It promotes mutual understanding through education and cultural exchange.

  • Does LGE sponsor the J-1 visa?

    No, LGE does not engage in direct recruitment and placement but act as a bridge and consultant.

  • What are the basic qualifications to apply?

  • How long is the J-1 visa valid for?

     The J-1 Teacher Visa is valid for three (3) years and may be extended for up to two (2) more years, depending on performance and program compliance.

  • Can I bring my family with me to the U.S.?

    Yes. Spouses and children under 21 may apply for J-2 dependent visas. They can live in the U.S. with you during your program duration.

  • What support does LGE provide after deployment?

    LGE offers continuous support throughout your journey. We want you to be successful in the U.S and offer multiple support video calls as well as monthly check-in emails to ensure that you feel supported and comfortable as you are deployed.

  • Will I be guaranteed a teaching position in the U.S.?

    Placement is entirely up to the Visa sponsor and or school. We act a support and consulting firm.

  • Can I apply if I’m currently teaching in another country?

    Yes, as long as you meet the qualifications and can provide the required documents. The process can be started online, and orientation can be arranged virtually.

  • What happens after the J-1 program ends?

     After completing the program, teachers are expected to return to their home country to share their experiences and apply what they’ve learned. This is part of the cultural exchange purpose of the J-1 visa.
